There are nine areas of conduct and professionalism in the Code of Ethics:

  • Person-Centered Supports
  • Promoting Physical and Emotional Well-Being
  • Integrity and Responsibility
  • Confidentiality
  • Justice, Fairness and Equity
  • Respect
  • Relationships
  • Self-Determination
  • Advocacy

The Code of Ethics should not be taken as a professional handbook. It is actually a guide. It presents standards that will help DSPs be consistent to ensure a bright future for both professionals and the people they serve.

To assist in this, the RCWT have develop a list of online resources for DSPs as they continue to transform as a workforce.
