Report to OPWDD by the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals. Six DSP Dialogues were held in 2012 throughout New York State . to introduce the Core Competencies and Code of Ethics to DSPs and obtain to feedback. This report details the results of these sessions.
NADSP’s mission “to enhance the quality of support provided to people with disabilities through the provision of products, services, and certifications which elevate the status of direct support workers, improve practice standards, promote systems reform and, most importantly, advance the knowledge, skills, and values of direct support workers.”
PHI works to improve the lives of people who need home or residential care by improving the lives of the workers who provide that care.
Vita is a non-profit organization based in Canada that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis. They publish a newsletter that is full of information that is of interest to DSPs.
